About me - Framing The Decisive Moment

Hi, I am Miklos Szabo, photographer and  for more than 30 years, photography has been an essential part of my life. it is my absolute passion. For me, diving into photography is a form of meditation. It requires complete focus on the frame, capturing pure beauty or the story behind it in a single visual. Sometimes a picture needs a few words; other times, it speaks entirely for itself.

I love the technical artistry, the skills, and the tools—evolving from my early days of homemade pinhole cameras and self-made lenses to today's high-tech equipment. However, in the end, it always comes down to the perfect composition, seeing, and that one unique fraction of a second.

It is difficult and rare to capture the right moment, or the right setting ar the right time but I feel like I always have to look for that.  I am based in Koog aan de Zaan, a small village near Amsterdam in the Netherlands and whenever it is possible, I am on the move with my camera, constantly chasing for, what Henri Cartier-Bresson beautifully called,: "the decisive moment".
